Breast implant size
The breast implant size that will be used is one of the most important decisions you have to make after deciding to have breast enlargement. Your decision regarding your breast augmentation size is a highly personal one that probably not everyone will agree with and for sure not everyone needs to agree with... You enlarge breasts for yourself and the most important thing is how you feel about it. If you have met your objectives, then your surgery is a success.
That being said, to avoid complications you have to consider a number of factors:
- your breast width
- your soft tissue coverage
- your height
- your build
- your nipples position in relation to the breast
Too large implants may cause:
- increased risk of capsular contracture
- increased risk of implant rupture
- increased risk of synmastia (loss of cleavage)
- higher incidence of sagging/drooping/bottoming out
- rippling and wrinkling
- the breast implant's edges may be visible through the skin and the implant may be more palpable
- very fake appearance ... you do not want to look like you just finished plastic surgery
- interfere with your athletic performance
- need for additional surgery to correct the problem listed above
Most cosmetic surgeons suggest that the right breast implant size is not more than one and a half to two cup sizes over your current breast size.
There are multiple reasons this. Firstly, if you increase breast size by only one cup size ... you will go through the surgery and probably nobody
will notice the change and maybe it is just not worth it. Secondly, if you increase by more than two cup sizes you increase the risk of the complications
listed before and good chances are you will look unnatural. Some women will opt for very large breast implants, for example
800cc breast augmentation
or
1000cc breast augmentation
surgery.
Change from cup A to cup C is the most popular breast enhancement procedure.
Well ... breast implant sizes are usually specified in cc (cubic centimeters) and not in cup sizes - so how to find out which implant to select. Your doctor will know, but just to give you an idea, a rough estimate is that you need approximately 240cc per one cup size of change.
